Sandown Twighlight Criterium Nov 21st

The weather for week 2 looked as though it was going to be a hot, but a late cool change made it look like a washout. However, conbine the two, and a humid by dry race was raced. Getting closer to the Annual Bay Criterium Series, local riders form was starting to lift, with many wanting to test their legs and form. With both international and interstate riders, the race deemed to be fast! A group of 5 managed to launch a winning attack in the final 3 laps, with De Angelis bringing home the bunch to claim the last of the points in 6th. With the humid weather, it gave a chance for the seasoned Vets to show their years of training.

Glenvale Criteriums Nov 19th

A debut Criterium of the Season for Andrew Stalder shows a good sign of things to come. A fast start to the race brought on by 'the SHM boys' out of the gates after a warm up on the rollers, set the race in fast motion. An eventual break away soar a large gap over the field, which allow Peter barnett to escape away from the break in the final lap to claim his first win of the Season, with Stalder rolling in right behind in second.

The First Sandown Twilight Series Nov 14

The first race of the Twilight Season showed the wind in full force, to remind riders how tuff and grueling racing at the big and open Sandown race way can be! A first lap attack managed to stay away for several laps before getting caught, but were a sign of what was to come for the remainder f the race, as well as the rest of the season. 3 riders managed to stay away, with Matt Jensen to take the win, followed by Mark Howard and then Matt Chesum. The Bunch was then led home by Anthony Smith to take 4th, Sam Salter of Salter Cyclies [the leasing race orientated shop in the West] and Damon De Angelis to take 6th.

Glenvale Crescent Criteriums Nov 12

After rain throughout the night, the numbers were low for a wet Glenvale Criterium. With a small field of 24 riders, their was less places to hide in the bunch. Promains sported a smaller team of only 2 riders; Anthony and Damon. An early crash consisting of 4 riders, took out De Angelis, however, the 4 riders rejoined the group after some laps out. The small field spread out towards the end, with riders attempting to ride solo away from the small bunch. Simon Frost of Fitzroy Cycles managed to power away for himself for the last 3 laps to take the win. De Angelis also rode away solo from the group to get 2nd. Smith manager to secure himself a place in the money in the nuch kick to take out the points for 5th.

Glenvale Crescent Criteriums Oct 29

A big weekend for Team Promains, mainly due to celebrating the engagement of Athony Smith and Catherine Allen, which wtill did not stop the team fronting to the Sunday Morning Race. Whilst Australian National Road Champion, Russel Van Hout, and South Australian Criterium Champion, Chris Luxton were in town to celebreate, the two also came out for a 'local' sunday morning hit out! Attack after attack were launched off of the front of the 75 Rider Field, non of which were to stay away, due to the strong chasing by many! So a bunch kick was on the cards. Normal break away man, Anthony Smith tried his luck in the sprint, coming in for a second positon, to up and coing junior Sprinter Pete Johnstone.

Glenvale Criteriums October 15th 2006

The second A Grade Criterium of the 06-07 season proved to be a fast 67 Rider Filled Group! Half into the race, and after many attacks had been brought back. Damon De Angelis managed to get in a break with Ex-Olympian Robert Crowe, Local Favourite Warren Knevvit in an escape of 6 riders. Getting well clear of the bunch with big turns by all, it came down to a cat and mou se game in the final lap. With De Angelis Jumping away in the second last corner whilst being surrounded by Track Sprinters, it was not until the line that Crowe shoved past in the gutter, making it a close top 6 places:
